Rembrandt Etchings
The ability to depict an abundance of Christian iconography, coupled with the beautiful prose associated with the work-combine to make this a landmark piece in the canon of Rembrandt's religious works. Durer woodcuts
Dürer's life is well documented due to his autobiographical notes, which allow us to study him with great accuracy. This can be beneficial even today as art collectors of Old Masters often have little documentation about an artist's life. 500 years ago, Albrecht Dürer studied art under artist Michael Wolgemut when he was fifteen. He quickly became an acclaimed artist by his mid-twenties. After traveling, he opened his own workshop where he would create his famous Durer woodcuts. These woodcuts were exceedingly popular, especially with his use of detail and balance which was lacking in many of the woodcuts of that time. Some of his most famous series are "Apocalypse", "Large Passion", "Small Passion", "Engraved Passion", and "Life of the Virgin". Marc Chagall Lithographs & Etchings
A beautiful original work of lithography titled, "Aleko" is pictured here. This piece is hand signed by Marc Chagall in pencil in the bottom right margin and numbered in the lower left margin. Framed in museum-quality, archival materials, this work is set in an Italian-style, bronze-leaf frame. This enchanting moonlight scene depicts Aleko and his wife, Zemphira from an old Russian tale of love and tragedy.
Andy Warhol Screenprints & Lithographs
International pop icon Andy Warhol is one of the most popular artists today. "Mick Jagger" is an impressive screen print by Warhol made in 1975. It is hand signed by both Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger at the bottom of the image, and numbered in the lower left. Old Master Bruegel Engraving
While Bruegel the Elder was creating his works, the Kingdom of England was being overthrown, the deadliest earthquake in history hit China, and English poet and playwright William Shakespeare was born. A 16th century Lifetime Impression Bruegel engraving carries 400 years of history within it. Each of these engravings are in great condition having survived centuries of owners.
